![]() some travel notesI love to travel, and have been fortunate enough to have been able to do quite a bit of it. The following snippets on my travel experiences are in no particular order, as they are more impressionistic than chronological in my mind. Pictures will follow as they are located in storage. |

EuropeThe standard, the mandatory even, trip to Europe between high school and university. The highlights: hitchiking through Ireland and getting a ride from a swedish multi media artist and his travelling slide show about discrimination in the Southern United States, called Moving Pictures. The Pictures were moving, so were we, along with many others, in a little red van.Discovering Salzburg, in the dead of winter, and seeing a fully robed monk pulling an ancient wooden flatbed trailer-with a computer on it. Staying in Edinborough with boyfriend-at-the-timeÕs novel writing aunt. Eccentric, interesting, inspriational. On my 22nd birthday I landed in Amsterdam, stinking drunk after spending the entire flight drinking with a Canadian farm league hockey player who was going to make big bucks in Europe. Highlight of this trip: Berlin, when the wall was still there. East berlin, crawling with Russian soldiers, and West with American ones. |

AfricaMy best friend flew me to Europe a few years later, and I travelled with her and her boyfriend to Morocco. Morocco, the Paris of Africa. Bought the silver hoop earrings I wear every day, and have worn every day since then. |

CanadaThe first camper trip: we took 4 weeks and a 100 foot RV to drive from Toronto to PEI and back again, by way of gaspe on the way there, and New Brunswick on the way back. The second camper trip, when Cameron was 2 weeks old. Only 2 weeks long this time, and only to Chicoutimi for a Bouchard family reunion. And the RV was a little shorter, too. |
